Eberbart Beard Comb with Case – Review

20170609_075459

This is my first actual beard comb. It’s both heavier and smaller in the hand than I anticipated, which generally makes it feel of great quality and craftsmanship. The size is admittedly taking some getting used to, (4′ x 2.5′ inch), but I come from using a longer plastic comb. The smell of the comb is naturally one which goes well with the beard balm I use. The smell is otherwise one which is pleasant and stands well on its own.

One particular feature I really appreciate is the ease with which it combs through my very thick beard. It hasn’t snagged at all, which was a very common problem with the plastic comb I was using. The comb also has two different types of ‘tooth’s’ both Fine or Wide so that you can pick the one that is most comfortable for you.

I have been using for about a week now, and while I haven’t noticed a major difference. I really love the case as it allows for easy transport to use throughout the day in a pocket/bag. It’s also very easy to clean, as it just requires you to wash it with warm soap, and water and allow it to air dry completely. This also helps soften the wood of the comb so it will just get better and better after each use.

iTrack Key Finder

I have had my iTrack Key Finder for more than a week. I thought I’d address a few of the positive and negative issues I have experienced with my iTrack.

Low volume
This is true, if covered up or in a bag, the iTrack is much harder to hear. However, the app shows you proximity, so I can use the app to get closer until I finally hear the alarm. I tested this also, by having my toddler hide my keys, and until I opened the lid of his toy box it was hard to hear. I still found them, thanks to the app.

Connectivity
Has never been a problem. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge, running Nought beta, and had no issues setting up, pairing, and tracking my unit.

Battery
This is what I have the biggest problem with. As this one has a replaceable battery, which makes it easy to change when low,  and you do not have to send in to pay more to swap, my battery, only a week old, is half depleted. One battery was already installed when I received it, and an extra one was included in the box, I feel the battery life is the biggest problem with this item.

Couple notes:
I have never used the proximity alarm. It would be annoying for my lifestyle, and I believe that depending on the way you use this Finder,  the alarms constantly going off could be a good thing.

My iTrack is most useful in helping me determine which pocket I left my keys in (or if I mistakenly throw them somewhere I forget ), or which room I left my phone in. I haven’t tried it on my dog, or kid, so it might have limitations with more intensive use that I haven’t discovered.

I haven’t had any problem with mistakenly hitting the button. I usually have my keys in my pants or coat pocket. You have to hold the button down to call your phone, so it’s not hard to do on accident.

I liked the proximity indicator on the app, and the fact that I just have to replace a $6 battery when it’s dead, rather than the whole device. My biggest wish would be for better battery life, or even recharging battery.

Review – Antop AT-413B Amplified Indoor/ Outdoor TV Antenna

I was looking for an antenna to use to see if cord cutting was going to be a reality in our household.  My biggest concern was the local channels, and being able to get some good quality video, so I could watch my favorite shows live, other shows I would use streaming services like Netflix and Sling TV. It is so frustrating to pay over 160.00 per month for TV/Internet and only watch a handful of shows!

We had an extra RCA OTA indoor antenna that we had not used in a long time, so we hooked it up to compare with this Antop Indoor/Outdoor  amplified antenna. So for starters, the RCA antenna was not very good and at best got less than 10 channels and those that it received, was not very good and signal was distorted at times. The weak signal was the biggest reason that we kept the cable services.

map

As you can see in the photo above, I have some distance between the antenna tower, and my house. Several of the towers are about 30 miles away, and the RCA was hardly able to get the shows to show. Once I swapped it with the Antop, I was able to scan and get almost 40 channels! Way more than I have ever gotten in the guest room, and I feel once I mount it outside, at the highest area of our house, we may get more every easily. The farthest transmitter is over 90 miles away, which is farther than the range this one provides, however it was perfect start into the life of Cord Cutting.

I was very surprised at the picture quality this Antop provided, most channels came in crystal clear. I was, and still am, very impressed. Tennessee is currently in a “Drought” so at the time of writing this, I do not know if storms may affect that. A few channels (7 to 10 total) did lose picture signal at times but I attribute that to the fact that I didn’t have the antenna outdoors or up higher and it was having to pick up a signal through the walls and roof of my home.

One very unique feature that this antenna has, is a 4G LTE filter, that “blocks” the inference that the signals share and that it allows for “stronger” signal transmission. While this was an interesting feature, in my testing it did not really show any different results and I do have cell phone towers less than a mile from my home. While this may be an YMMV feature, I was unable to notice any difference in my testing.

It was very easy to set up. All the hardware you need is included in the box. I just attached one end of the coaxial cable to the antenna, the other end to the amplifier, and the amplifier to my HDTV. The amplifier gets plugged into any nearby wall outlet. You then need to set your television reception to ‘antenna’ or ‘air’ then have it scan the channels. That’s it. It was super easy. You get about sixteen feet of cable or so if you need any more than that you may want to purchase that as well. If you are like me you probably already have a ton of coaxial cable in a box in a closet somewhere.

Overall I am very impressed with this antenna. It exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Now, to mount it up outside or inside the attic, and run cable to the other TV’s and get rid of cable TV service. I will keep the internet however, the internet with streaming services and this antenna, we plan on saving almost 70 dollars a month!

GuideLine Pro – Review

So let me start by saying that I always take care of my beard myself. To me it’s something that you can mostly do with little to no maintenance. Sometimes it grows uneven, and sometimes I cut it shorter on one side more than the other.

With that said, I jumped at the opportunity of reviewing this beard tool with the tips/tricks to get your beard looking barbershop fresh! Looking at the sample image on Amazon, it looks easy! Hold it up to your face and the tool provides a easy way to line up…. Well yeah…. Sort of.

So this tool has 3 edges and each is used differently. Side 1 works for the top of your beard, while step 2 is designed to be used for your neck line. Step 3 is for your mustache and as you can see in the photo above the instructions are not very helpful.

Step 1 is suppose to make it easy for you to shape your beard perfectly on both sides,  and honestly I could really use that! I don’t have the best luck with ensuring that both sides match and even just holding it up you can see a difference between the sides.

Step 2 is supported to make it easy to trim your neck line and make it look nice and even all the way around. For Step 3, I had no idea what or how to use it,  however I figured if the first 2 steps work out 3 may just work on its own.

So yeah I do not have my beard anymore…. This is by far the hardest part of reviewing! So what happened you may ask? Well at step 1 you are to hold the tool up to your face and your be able to shave with the other hand. We’ll in theory that would require another hand and I do not have that. After wetting my face and holding it up with one hand,  then I tried to put shaving cream on my face a day make a “Template”  or outline. We’ll the wet face and foam shaving cream did not work exactly well. This caused me to miss and shave ALOT lower than it should have.

So I personally cannot recommend this to anyone,  unless your using it at a barbershop or a second person assisting with using it. The instructions from the seller also does not help much. Check out the product on Amazon today!

Review – Super Benny Bouncy Bull

This bouncy bull is what you’ll get and can be inflated Over and over again. It’s name is Benny, but we just call it a Bull because once on a bull, just like the rodeo ‘Cowboys’ they need to hold on tight!

I love the strength of ‘Benny’ where it can go for example like tuff outdoor’s ground the material is not like any ordinary one I have ever rubbed on it’s soft latex that seems very strong!

Included with purchase is a free hand pump,  which means your be ready to ride and play within minutes! The white plug, which is located at the rear/bottom of the bull, is slightly difficult to remove, but can be done by hand. After I inserted the pump a few light strokes that is all was needed then presto the bull’s inflated up!  It was very easy/quick for me to do and I’m sure the pump can also be used for other reasons too so it’s a Win Win!

Perfect Life Ideas – Desktop Miniature Pool Table Set

At an affordable price of $12.97, I couldn’t be more satisfied with this Mini Pool Table by Perfect Life Ideas! I really enjoy playing pool with my wife, and this Mini Pool Table creates a great social piece when at work. The size 9.5″ L x 5.25″ W x 2.4″ H is small enough to fit anywhere and has two cue sticks that are just 6.25″ L.

This is a small, very kiddie version, and it has everything you need for a quick game. The size is perfect for little ones. My son is almost 3 years old, and wouldn’t recommend it due to the small choking hazards that are present with the balls, however I can see slightly older kids, over 6 years of age, that can handle it pretty well. Because the parts are tiny, larger hands may not have a great time playing so this may be great for kids or young adults.

We had lots of fun playing it the day once we received it. One thing to remember is that the balls are small, and can be lost very easily if they hit the follow or fall out from the collection slot. My favorite feature is that the balls fall into a collection section below the table, and fall into the rack so that you can finish one game and have the balls set for the next match within a few moments.

One issue with my sampled product is that the legs are off balance, and if you touch one corner of the table it will shift and cause the balls to move slightly. For younger kids, it’s no big deal really! Also, I really wished the balls looked more like the real object balls. This is space saving (very compact) and very fun game set for the whole family and friends!

Summery Pop up Infant Travel Bed – Review

So going along with the Summery Pop up Tent, I was also provided this Summery Pop up infant travel bed and it is just as handy as the last tent. It’s portable, lightweight, and super handy at keeping mosquitoes, and any other bugs that are annoying you.

The tent measures about 13 1/4″ x 16″ x 2 3/4″ and is a great size for most children under the age of 2. As you can see, our son Trey can lay down and roll around inside it and not have any issues. That being said my only issue is with the netting, as this does not zip up around the bed, like the larger pop up tent does, and relies on folding the netting under the pole at both ends. While it does have a zipper part at the top of the cover, I was never able to get the netting to stay put at the ends, and it kept popping up and over the pole. This does not work well during my testing and was really the only complaint that I had.

The tent included a nice removable bottom pad that sits on the bottom of the bed to allow comfort from just laying it on the ground and was easy to add/remove whenever needed. The inside also has nice UV protection so that the sun stays out of baby’s eyes and lets them sleep without being disturbed by the sun.

20160708_200946

You also get elastic hooks on the inside that allow you to hang baby’s favorite toy to double as a playmat to use. Baby can roll around very easy for tummy time if needed however should be watched closely whenever they are in it. This isn’t something you’re just place your baby in and walk away.

This Summery Pop up infant travel bed is so much easier to fold up and carry when not in use. Way much more than the Summery Pop up Tent as I reviewed before and is  lightweight enough to carry with you wherever you go and portable enough to fit inside a bag, or under a stroller when not in use.
